Snapchat update lets you create ‘Snapcodes’ for any website, including porn

A new Snapchat update rolled out to iOS users Tuesday makes it much easier to share online content within the app. It allows users to create so-called Snapcodes for any link, which is as simple as manually entering a URL into an entry field.

But the most interesting part of the update is that when Snapchat says you can create a Snapcode for any website, they mean ANY website — even if it’s patently NSFW.

Creating the Snapcodes is a simple three-step process.

  1. Go to settings and select “Snapcodes.”
  2. Select the “Create Snapcode” option.
  3. Enter a URL and press Create.

Like personal Snapcodes, you can personalize the website’s code with an image — the app even searches for pics on the webpage you’re linking to make it easier. Here’s the finished product, which will send you to the byline of yours truly.

From there, the new ‘Code is easy to share with friends via text, Snap or by physically taking a pic of the image.

What really got interesting in our demo of the new feature was when we tested other types of websites. The Snapcode Usage Guidelines don’t mention any blocked sites for the new service — the only restriction is against using copyrighted images for the picture. With that in mind, we checked a few other, less reputable sites.

Everything worked — including Pornhub (no, we’re not including THAT Snapcode here). When asked if there are any content restrictions in place for URLs containing inappropriate materials, Snapchat reps had no comment, but pointed us to Google’s Safe Browsing service, which the app uses to “help warn Snapchatters about suspected phishing, malware, and other dangerous websites.”

Be careful with those new Snapcodes, then — they could lead to anything.

Newly Launched Nokia 6 Android Device Cracks Walnuts

Whenever you hear the name “NOKIA“, one thing comes to mind… DURABILITY. Long ago, people used to teased that when a Nokia phone hits the ground, the ground breaks.
Although that isn’t true, you’ve got to admit that Nokia phones were really strong.

When I heard that HMD would be handling the production of Nokia phones, I thought they wouldn’t be able to keep up the good name. But it seems they are!

In a new YouTube video, the new Nokia 6 was used to smash a walnut (both the front and back was used) you can watch the video below;

The tester in the video used both the front screen and the back casing to attempt to break the walnut and it did break the shell without any damage to the Nokia 6’s display or body, not even a scratch.

A few days back, Nokia teased the Nokia 6 as having a military grade body that can withstand a wide range of extreme conditions, such as extreme temperature, high humidity, snow, water etc.

The monster device will go on sale starting from January 19 2017.

Whatsapp Now Allow You To Preview Videos Before Downloading

In a bid to keep whatsapp as the ‘oba‘ of instant messaging, a brand new feature has been added to the mix.
The new feature allows you to stream videos while downloading them, just like on Youtube.

WhatsApp

Before this feature this feature came along, you could only watch videos sent to you via Whatsapp after you have downloaded it, but now you can easily preview the video before you download it. So if while previewing the video you feel like you are not interested, you don’t have to download it.

whatsapp video streaming

I think it is really helpful as you on’t have to download lame videos anymore. To get this feature enabled, you have to download the latest WhatsApp beta update from Play Store, iPhone users will have to wait a while to get this feature.

WhatsApp To Introduce An ‘Edit’ And ‘Unsend’ Feature Soon

The year, whatsapp has seen a lot of impressive upgrades ranging from Zip file sharing and call-back support, to GIF support to the most important VIDEO CALLING! which a lot of people are still enjoying.

It seems yet another update will soon be unleashed, and it is one feature fast-typers such as me need a lot… I can not count how many times I have sent wrong messages (most times I type without looking at my screen so…). With the new feature I don’t have do what I used to.. Wondering what I used to do? Look at it below…

WhatsApp Unsend feature

New reports suggest that WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows its users to ‘revoke’ an already sent message, edit it then send it again.

This feature is currently available on BBM and Gmail.
The ‘revoke’ feature is said to have been spotted on WhatsApp beta version 2.17.1.869 on iOS.

While the ‘revoke’ and edit feature is really cool, what is more interesting about the feature is that the ‘recalled’ message will disappear or get deleted from the receivers’ phone too.

MediaTek Introduces Helio X20-Based Board for a Broad Range of Applications

Recognizing the popularity of Android among both professional developer and makers, MediaTek has partnered with ArcherMind Technology to offer you access to the power and performance of MediaTek Helio X20 technology for Android-based IoT devices.

The Helio X20 Development Board is based on MediaTek’s high-end Helio X20 mobile processor, making it the first development board in the industry to use Tri-Cluster, deca-core and ARM® Cortex®-A72 technology.

The Helio X20 Development Board, compatible with Linaro’s 96Boards specification, broadens MediaTek’s Internet of Things (IoT) reach and is designed to meet the needs of the Android developer community. Developers can use the advanced board to build solutions for existing and emerging markets including virtual reality, advanced driver assisted systems (ADAS), mobile point-of-sale, smart signage, vending machines and more.

“With our new development board we give developers amazing computing performance and unmatched power efficiency of the MediaTek Helio X20 that our customers use for commercial products. This goes to MediaTek’s core of finding new ways to bring technology to the masses,” said Jeffrey Ju, Executive Vice President and co-Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to innovative MediaTek-powered products and applications the Android community will produce, reflecting our spirit of Everyday Genius.”

The developer community increasingly chooses to build products based on Android, due to the operating system’s mass adoption. One challenge in the development board market, however, is the lack of software standardization among boards from different manufacturers. To solve this, MediaTek joined Linaro, an open-source organization, to support the 96Boards platform, which is an open hardware standard.

The MediaTek Helio X20 Development Board is designed with the Linaro 96Boards specification, so it is compatible with other 96Boards products for other solutions. That means developers can easily incorporate their work into the Helio X20 Development Board and enjoy all the flexibility and creativity the board has to offer.

“The Helio X20 Development Board sets a new performance benchmark among 96Boards products with its deca-core, Tri-Cluster combination of the ARM Cortex-A53 and A72 along with the ARM Mali-T880 MP4 graphics chip,” said David Rusling, Linaro CTO. “The Helio X20 Development board will enhance the range of 96Boards development platforms, enabling commercial and hobbyist developers working on the next generation of products and software. We look forward to developers taking advantage of the new performance levels that MediaTek is providing.”

MediaTek’s Helio X20 Development Board leverages the Tri-Cluster deca-core structure to more efficiently handle different types of workloads. It can delegate simple tasks to one cluster of cores, while directing more complex and more power-hungry tasks to the other clusters for smoother performance and extended battery life. It is an ideal platform for Android developers working on innovations for today’s existing and emerging markets.

Updated Facebook Messenger Brings About Instant Video On Android and iOS

Facebook, who recently turned on live feature for most Africa counties, have introduced instant video in it’s Messenger platform.

The Instant Video feature is somewhat similar to the already available and relatively new video calling feature except for the fact that, everything happens on the same screen.

This means that, when engaging in a conversation with someone via messenger, you can simply engage in a instant video chat which allows you see things in real live and still type on same screen.

See the video below for better understanding of what the new instant video on the messenger app entails.

Of course, before instant video can be initiated, both parties needs to be running the latest version of the messenger app. Hence, you should rush down to the app store or play store to update the app.

If for any reason, you can’t find the new feature on the messenger app for Android or iOS after updating, relax. It’d get to you in the following days.
